Possibly the best metro route is to start stop Liceu (L3-Green Line) or Drassanes (also L3) and go up the Ramblas. We recommend the first.

If we left the metro at Liceu stop first sight will be, of course, the Gran Teatre del Liceu, a history and many legends about the bad luck he has had with fire …

Then you have to walk down Las Ramblas. There is so much to tell about them, best you see yourselves! Human figures, florists, artists doing portraits walk streets.A very bohemian street! A street also has several points of interest: Canaletas Fountain (famous mainly because the FC Barcelona fans celebrate there victories of the team), the Royal Academy of Sciences and Arts, the Boqueria market, which you can not leave to come and spend some time watching the Vice-Queen Palace or the Royal Plaza. From the top of La Rambla (which up to Plaça Catalunya Catalunya and Pelai Street), we can follow, for example, the shopping street Portaferrissa, where in addition to many shops we see aside the Archdeacon’s House, next to the Roman wall; and the other the magnificent Cathedral of Barcelona, always surrounded by tourists.

If we put in front of the Cathedral, the street that is on your right is the Bisbe Street (Carrer del Bisbe). We lead quickly (and with a curious view if we look for the highest) to Plaça Sant Jaume, the square where the most important political organizations in Barcelona: the City Council and the Generalitat, the seat of the Catalan government.

Then we take Ferran Street, crossing a square and we will take Carrer de l’Argenteria to find the Basilica of Santa Maria del Mar, known for some years by the nickname “Cathedral of the Sea”. It is a pleasure for the senses Lovers Gothic.

Upon leaving, we take eating tapas in the vicinity of Santa Maria del Mar, as we found in the neighborhood of Born, a very typical area to get tapas in Barcelona, and we can fill enough belly to serve us food. If you prefer to taste dish also find various restaurants.

Come to the Via Laietana and we fall, after walking more, arrive at Port Vell, the marina, where the commercial Moll d’Espanya and the leisure center Maremagnum.

If then we walk like we were in the same direction we have been, we find the following section, by the sea, is La Barceloneta, the old fishing village of Barcelona. At the bottom of all is the Olympic Port, built for the 1992 Olympics’ Games. Entertainment area is a very active and typically stop for a drink, dinner or eat a paella … but somewhat high prices.

To finish, leaving the sea behind us and crossed the Ronda Litoral, is the famous Parc de la Ciutadella, one of the nicest parks we have in Barcelona, which is just adjacent to the Barcelona Zoo. Worth enjoy it!. Going up the road that goes straight from there (Passeig de Sant Joan) find the majestic Triomphe Arc. Once there, we can take the metro or train, as our destination. Here ends day 1.

What to see in Barcelona: Day 2.

Today … We are going to visit Sagrada Familia! 😉

We can get to it with the Blue Underground or Purple Metro Line (L2 or L5) and better go early to avoid long queues.

After visiting the sublime work of Gaudí, let’s go down to the Paseo de Gracia walk, taking a nice walk. We can take the Provenza street, Avenida Diagonal where to find the Terrades House, also called “Casa de les Punxes” (House of Spikes, Spikes) by needles that top the towers. Another wonderful example of modernism, the architect Puig i Cadafalch. Then left 3 perpendicular streets, and is the Paseo de Gracia, whose corner we find the Casa Mila, Gaudi another gem known as La Pedrera.

At this point, and I advised that although the Passeig de Gracia ( Passeig de Gracia) is “only” a street , there looooong seen (as nice ! ) And we will take time.

Let’s enjoy the Paseo de Gracia as down . Not only its magnificent modernist buildings , but also its stores. We are one of the most important commercial areas of the city ( the Barcelona Shopping Line ) . Down four blocks along the Paseo de Gracia, the right shall be the Tapies Foundation , the building is beautiful, the collections are only interested if you have so much time.

About five streets to get under another magnificent work of Gaudí: Casa Batlló ( did you know that represents Sant Jordi slaying a dragon , and each balcony is a rose? ) . By the way, come here and you should know that and you find yourself in the famous “Block of Discord” , not only can you visit the Casa Batllo, but is also the Casa Lleó Morera i Casa Amatller a few meters . Modernism Enjoy ! 😉

Once here, you surely will be hungry . Be quiet where you stop to eat… there are sites that are somewhat expensive for the area. In this blog we have previously written about a few suggestions of where to eat in the center of Barcelona ; if you do not like at the beginning of the Rambla Catalunya (parallel to Passeig de Gràcia street) you have some pretty affordable options .

Finished eating, we take the Metro Plaça Catalunya ( L1 or L3 ) and we go to Plaza Spain ( although it’s a journey of less than a half hour walk also can do walking) . Once there, climb to the viewpoint of the Arenas Shopping Centre to enjoy the view and take pictures. It is amazing! . We crossed Spain Square and see the Venetian towers , fountains of Montjuïc and our front , the majestic Museo Nacional d’ Art de Catalunya (MNAC ) , we recommend to spend part of the afternoon and make a visit.

Once you leaving the MNAC, do not miss Teatre Grec gardens and spectacular panoramic views.

Here ends today’s visit .

What to see in Barcelona: Day 3.

If you love football, do not fail to see the Camp Nou, the stadium of FC Barcelona.

After visiting the area , we recommend you take the Barcelona Tourist Bus (specifically the blue route) to enjoy the city while you take some of the key tourist spots that you even get to see.

The route will take you to there sites you catch as phenomenal as Casa Vicens, a work of Gaudí less famous than the rest and has recently reopened its doors ; Park Güell, where no doubt you have to spend at least an hour or two to walk and enjoy its green and its architecture, or the Monastery of Pedralbes, a trip to the past that is worth doing .

In between Tourist Bus journey will enjoy views of the Sagrada Familia, Passeig de Gràcia, and several buildings that are worth seeing again.

During the day you can walk up and down the tourist bus as many times as you like with the same ticket.
